Burkina Faso’s customs service announced seizures of prohibited goods worth more than CFA 10 billion under Operation Maya, carried out from 10 July to 15 October 2026. The goods included medicines, drugs, explosives, cyanide, mercury and food products.

As part of Operation Maya, carried out from 10 July to 15 October 2026, Burkinabe customs seized more than CFA10 billion worth of prohibited and smuggled goods. The seizures included 4.2 million Tapendadol tablets, fertilizer, rice and drugs.
